AUGMENTED REALITY SEX-ED

2011, Georgia Tech – Master's Project

 

How might we make sexual health education more accessible to youth? How can we reduce the stigma around condoms?

 

My master's project was speculative, meant to provoke thought around how our culture stigmatizes condom use and how we might normalize it. 

 

I followed a user-centered design process to design and assess an augmented reality (AR) Android game, Volcano Fever, which models proper condom use. Players launch the game by scanning a real condom package. I led a team of software engineer students to develop the game, built in Unity.
